Breathing Removes Toxins And Increases Overall Health
The Importance Of Breathing
As we travel through our day most of us don't give any thought to breathing. It is automatic and extremely important. It is a natural occurrence that takes place approximately 28,000 times a day. This function is created by a trampoline like muscle known as the diaphragm located just below the lungs. When the diaphragm contacts it creates a vacuum in the lungs which causes an inflow of air. When the diaphragm relaxes the pressure inside the lungs change and the air is expelled.
While the air is in the lungs several things occur. Most importantly the hemoglobin particles in the red blood cell act like magnets and extract oxygen molecules directly from the air. As this is taking place, waste products are released into the alveoli or air sacks, of the lungs. Upon exhalation the toxins are removed from the body.
Oxygen And Its Uses
The oxygen that was absorbed by the red blood cells is then carried throughout every cell in the body distributing nutrients and oxygen to each and every cell. Each cell uses oxygen to metabolize nutrients and create energy, destroy pathogens and this process creates waste material. This waste material is then carried by the blood to the lungs and other organs like the liver and kidney's for removal.
Cleaning The Sewage
When blood travels from the lungs it is very clean however, when it is traveling back to the lungs it is a kin to a foul stream of sewage. The lungs are one of the primary organs that clean and detoxify the bloodstream. In today's world, due to stress, it is difficult to breath properly. This results in poorly oxygenated blood and is the primary cause of many health problems.
Ailments Of Poor Breathing
Poor breathing is like taking a rubber band to one of your fingers and wrapping it several times around the finger. The result is no oxygen or nutrients getting to that part of your body. Not breathing properly is actually restricting the proper amount of oxygen to your entire body. If cells don't have the proper amount of oxygen the end result is death. When you restrict the blood supply to the rest of your body you will experience cold extremities, slow healing, muscle cramps and weakness, swelling, foggy thinking, memory loss, inability to fight infections, and toxicity to name a few ailments. Further fatigue, headaches and bad vision can be a result of restricted oxygen.
Daily Life Saving Exercise
Please try this good breathing technique to increase your vitality:
- Inhale slowly and concentrate on filling the lower portion of the lungs and work your way up to the middle portion and the very top of the lungs. It is important to stand erect with your hands at your side and further relax your abdominal muscles in order to allow the diaphragm to drop to its lowest position.
- Always inhale from your nose as this pre-warms and moistens the air before reaching the lungs. The hairs in the nose are extremely helpful as they act as filters to remove any large particles in the air as it passes through your nostrils.
- While the upper part of your lungs fill make sure to gently pull your shoulders up and back as this ensures that the very top of the lungs receive the proper amount of air.
- Now that the lungs are full begin to exhale by letting the air release by relaxing the shoulders and continuing to relax the diaphragm until the air has completely escaped.
With some practice of this breathing exercise you will begin to notice significant changes in ailments you might have had from the list above. You will also begin to notice a significant change in your posture, your metabolism will increase which means extra pounds may be shed, circulation will improve experiencing a decrease in cold hands or feet, and you will experience an overall fantastic detoxifying effect.
